I've been the hiring manager. Now I'll help you get past one

Personal 1:1 CV and interview coaching from someone who's actually sat on the other side of the desk — not template-driven AI.

Hi, I'm Jake. I've spent six years as a hiring manager — reviewing hundreds of CVs and interviewing real candidates. I now offer friendly, personalised coaching to help you tell the right story, walk into interviews with confidence, and step into the role you actually want.

Why work with me

A real hiring manager, not an algorithm

  • Your CV gets built with you — not squeezed into a generic AI template. Every piece of advice is grounded in what I've actually seen land roles for real people.

  • Six years on the hiring side — I've reviewed hundreds of CVs and run countless interviews across operations, marketing, and creative teams. I know what hiring managers in your sector are scanning for — and what makes them stop reading.

  • Coaching that fits how you learn — Some clients want frameworks they can apply themselves. Others want weekly check-ins and a hand on the tiller. I shape the support around how you actually work, not the other way round.

I've spent over six years working as a hiring manager and team developer — which means I've seen what works and what doesn't on real CVs from real candidates. I've coached and mentored staff for years, helping them prepare for interviews, progress in their roles, and step into leadership positions. Now I offer that same personalised support to people outside my own team — to help you present your best self and move confidently into your next opportunity.

30 Minute Sessions Start From £50

CV Transformation

Not sure what's next? We'll map your strengths, the roles that suit them, and a 90-day plan to get there. Useful if you're between roles, returning after a break, or pivoting into a new sector.

Practice the questions that actually decide it — with feedback from someone who's asked them. We'll cover your story, behavioural questions, and the curveballs people always blank on. You walk in calm, prepared, and authentic.

A live working session where we rebuild your CV together. I help you articulate your achievements, sharpen your headline, and present your experience in a format that gets you past the recruiter and the ATS.

FAQs

How does the first call work?

1

We meet on Zoom for the time you've booked. I read your questionnaire beforehand so we go straight to the substance — no warm-up. By the end, you'll have clear actions to take, whether or not you book again.

Do I need to be in a specific industry?

2

I work mainly with people in operations, corporate, marketing, creative, and media roles. If you're not sure whether your sector fits, send me a message — I'd rather tell you upfront than waste your time.

What if I don't know what I want next?

3

That's fine — most clients arrive uncertain. We'll spend the session figuring out the right question before we go looking for the answer.

Is this in-person or online?

4

All sessions are on Zoom, recorded with your permission so you can review them afterwards. I'm UK-based and most clients are too — but the time zones don't matter much.
